Josh had been watching the news with Marla and Kyle for the last few days, even though he wasn’t much for news. He’d seen the unemployment numbers rising to record levels, the massive layoffs and store closings. They’d watched the stock market plummet and inflation skyrocket. Welcome to another run of the mill apocalypse story. This one is actually book 2 in the series so some of the characters already had time to shine in Book 1. With that in mind, I embarked on a journey so drab and weary, that only the big highlights remain: moving west as zombies cause a financial collapse and people are attacking each other on all sides.
This is not The Walking Dead or The Stand. This is a simple teen journey story with very little to go on other than it’s an ongoing story and there’s been some bad stuff happening in the past. I couldn’t get past the third chapter. DNF
