I was feeling like the autum feel is bringing me down so I decided to have a look at some Haiku Poetry for the season.  I found some really nice ones on https://peaceroad.wordpress.com/autumn-haiku-poems/ and I think I posted a few last year (but they were more winter/spring driven)

A haiku poem consists of three lines, with the first and last line having 5 moras, and the middle line having 7. A mora is a sound unit, much like a syllable, but is not identical to it. Since the moras do not translate well into English, it has been adapted and syllables are used as moras.

Autumn moonlight—

a worm digs silently

into the chestnut.

The crow has flown away:

swaying in the evening sun,

a leafless tree.

foliage on fire
flames flickering up the steps
that lead to my soul

a hedgehog lingers
listening to rustling leaves
change is in the air

autumn’s final dance
ere the blazing lights go dim
her heart skips a beat
