Saw The Good Dinosaur last night and I must say while Pixar animations have gotten better and better, they are still crap when rendering a dinosaur.

I loved the way they depicted America. Yes, I know, it could have been anywhere in the world, but combined with the Texan T-Rex Dinosaurs, the Redneck Velociraptors and the Montana farm in the mountains, there is little to guess about the location of the movie.

The scenery is mind-blowing. Sooo well done! So amazing! Much wow! I mean it made me want to go on a road-trip again. From each individual plant and tree, to a valley and mountains and I have no idea how much they paid for the water rendering engine but it was a lot better than the Hobbit P2 (where they fought in the barrels in the water).

Best parts:
When papa T-Rex tells his story with the crocodiles, his voice is absolutely amazing. So deep I felt my insides vibrate from the bass.
The scenery is amazing! The adventure too!
Bad parts:
Humans in this story are equivalent of dogs.
The flashbacks are not quite there yet! There is a lot of drama in a movie for kids – the subject is a bit dark – the death of a member of the family, the struggles to cope when a productive member of a family leaves and the burden of his work falls on the shoulders of others and the desire to succeed in a world where accomplishments should be shown quick or the person is penalized as being weak.
I urge you to watch it- but don’t take your kids with you.
