Gosh darn it, Hollywood, if you want more people to donate blood to the Red Cross, you should have just said so!
Instead, we learned from the man of few words, Tom Hardy, that you can still look cool and save a few lives by shedding some blood. Either voluntary or not.

The only thing I would advise the feeble women (and men) while looking at the on-screen blood switching – is not to look when he pulls a hook from his neck that was attached to a vein. I nearly fainted at that one…
Here’s something cool from the movie that makes up for that scene:

OK – Second rule of donating blood – always check if the blood type is compatible, otherwise you might find out that the receiving end will start to be sicker as an auto-immune response is triggered, causing the white cells to attack the new blood as it does not recognize it. Below is the donation chart:

Our hero tries to save his dying love interest at one point (*not a spoiler*) and connects his blood to her transfusion and voila! she is saved. I would say he got lucky… And hopefully he did not pass her any Hepatitis C as a present…. (Yuck!)
To make up for this gross mental image, I present you some more awesome pics from the movie!
PS: If you are in the UK and want to see this movie at the most awesomest – try going to Milton Keynes and see it in 4DX, Real 3D. I was sprayed with water, the wind blew through my hair and felt the rumble of the engine through my seat (and I had a great time).
Have a good weekend!
